"I have purchased 3 geotaggers from Solmeta. The 1st 2 worked very well on international trips and were very accurate. Unfortunately, 1 stopped working and I had to throw it away. The newest I purchased this year is the VERY best of the three I purchased. It is easy to use, accurate, and I like the feature of being able to view the coordinates on the LCD screen on the back when it is turned on. Presently using with Nikon D300s."

" I actually purchased 2 geotaggers. First I purchased the basic version the N1 to use with my D300. Then the more expensive Pro version for use with my D5000.

I found them both very useful and indispensable, as I did a very long journey through the Central Australian Deserts and the Kimberley region of Australia during June, July and August this year. The information attached to my photos has been extremely useful in organising them into files when I returned home and to locate them on maps through my computer photo program. I am using an Apple with Aperture photo organising program.

I have now found the geotagging function a necessary feature for photographing in unfamiliar and remote locations and for cataloging photos of landforms, animals and plants on my return."

"It was some years ago when I bought the first Solmeta Geotagger N2 for my D200. I was looking at the Nikon unit when it came on the market and could not find any details on its accuracy and instead it was the opposite with plenty of information on your website. I also liked the idea of having its own battery as the D200 was a poor performer when it came to the battery. It proved to be the exact tool I needed on the camera. I specialise in photographing and monitoring wild orchids and in the Australian Bush one needs to be able to find the same plant the next season, or someone else to find the same plant.

 I soon purchased a spare which was the N1, but when I got the D300 I also bought the first Geotagger Pro that just had come on the market. It had some issues in its accuracy at first, but this was quickly solved and the unit was replaced with a corrected unit. My son also uses 2 cameras and we have now the D2 on every other camera. I have lost count how many we used. I use the Pro on my main camera and the N2 on my second camera. My son need the remote and uses the N2 on both his cameras. This leaves us with one spare N2 as we lost the N1 somewhere in the bush.

We both like the quick response of the units and accuracy. As we have a satellite corrected system in our area, the accuracy is within 3 m when weather conditions are reasonable. I use the data on Google Earth and my son is more into the iPhone gadgets which show localities nicely too. The latest Solmeta units have more flexible leads to connect to the camera (the original ones were a bit stiff for their length). Having the internal battery is a plus and I have never run it flat yet. I usually plug it into the computer for a few hours after use, but also have USB adaptors to charge units if needed. As we use an off-camera lead for the flash, we have fixed a hotshoe part on top of the lead-connector to the camera, rather then hanging it from the strap.

We love the units and would hate to be without them now. They have proved to be reliable and based on quality and performance are excellent value for money."
